Standard 2: Career Focus
Academy students attend a STEM Expo, presented by Mazda, at Spruce Creek High School.
Many academy students participate in internship programs which provide them with real world learning opportunities. In the picture above, AEMS Juniors and Seniors participate in a lab at the Museum of Arts and Science (MOAS). This internship is a part of a MOAS partnership.

Standard 4: Advisory Committee
The academy board has been recently created to assist in shaping the academy and providing numerous learning opportunities for enrolled students. Academy teachers have attended an academy visit to Nashville, TN and participated in several development sessions on marketing the program to local businesses for support.

Standard 5: Enrollment

Students participate in one of the monthly AEMS meeting held on the first and third Friday of each month. The meetings are lead by the academy officer team and the students discuss upcoming events.

Students take part in the scheduled "Lunch with a Scientist" visit. The event, created by Mrs. Stacey Bell, allows students to hear first hand from scientists on their various job responsibilities.

Academy students participate in the district Envirothon at Spruce Creek Park on February 20th.

tandard 11: Capstone Projec
The Academy Capstone Project consists of an internship that provides students with hands on learning opportunities. The pictures above were taken by a student at his internship site where he helps maintain and install aquariums.

Academy and FFA officers attend the annual High School Showcase promoting the academy to incoming freshmen.

Students attend Atlantic High's annual Family nights for incoming freshmen. AEMS and FFA members set up a booth with information on the academy as well as the FFA chapter.
